news releaseHueck Folien Breaks Ground WEIDEN, GERMANY Hueck Folien GmbH & Co. KG, one of the worlds largest independent foil and film converters, has started construction on the companys new pharmaceutical foils manufacturing plant in Pirkmuehle, Germany, it was announced by the firms Board of Management. The first stage of the new facility is scheduled for completion during 2002 and will feature a 1,200 square meter production area with two new machines dedicated solely to the worldwide pharma market. The initial investment for the first stage is approximately $7.9 million (U.S.); the plant is expected to generate some 100 new jobs. Long-term plans for the pharma center
call for a total allocation of 5,000 square meters and will include
a separate quality control facility, shipping department, and administrative
offices. Hueck technology and services include lamination, coating, rotogravure and flexographic printing, metallizing, holography, slitting, in-house graphics preparation and cylinder engraving. The companys products include push-through and peelable blister foils; cold-formable foils for absolute barrier to moisture and oxygen; heat-seal coatings for PVC, PVdC, Aclar® laminations, PET, PP and Barex®; two-sided registered printing for compliance-style packaging; text- and barcode-printable white-lacquered foils; plus child-resistant, senior friendly and anti-counterfeiting structures. In addition, Huecks Pharma Finishing Services Program provides quick turnaround for customers that require materials for clinical trials, stabilities and other special needs.
