Hueck Folien Breaks Ground
on New Production Center
Facility to manufacture foils
exclusively for pharmaceutical packaging
WEIDEN, GERMANY – Hueck Folien GmbH & Co. KG, one of the world’s largest independent foil and film converters, has started construction on the company’s new pharmaceutical foils manufacturing plant in Pirkmuehle, Germany, it was announced by the firm’s Board of Management.
The first stage of the new facility is scheduled for completion during 2002 and will feature a 1,200 square meter production area with two new machines dedicated solely to the worldwide pharma market. The initial investment for the first stage is approximately $7.9 million (U.S.); the plant is expected to generate some 100 new jobs.
Long-term plans for the pharma center
call for a total allocation of 5,000 square meters and will include
a separate quality control facility, shipping department, and administrative
offices.

In addition, Hueck’s Pharma Finishing Services Program provides quick turnaround for customers that require materials for clinical trials, stabilities and other special needs.
